SIGNAL
Paleontology news. Bilingual, continuous.
SIGNAL aggregates paleontology news from major science outlets in real time. New species descriptions, fossil site discoveries, research findings — arriving in both English and Spanish. It's a live feed, not curated editorial: if the science community publishes it, SIGNAL surfaces it.
What it covers
SIGNAL pulls from RSS feeds at Phys.org, ScienceDaily, and Sci.News for the English feed, and a separate set of Spanish-language science outlets for the Spanish feed. Coverage includes:
- New species and genus descriptions published in peer-reviewed research.
- Fossil site discoveries and excavation updates.
- Paleogeographic and evolutionary research findings.
- Museum and collection announcements.
Bilingual
SIGNAL is fully bilingual. English-language sources and Spanish-language sources are aggregated separately and presented in the language you're using in the app. Scientific names stay in their standard form in both languages.
What it isn't
SIGNAL is not editorial. PaleoDex doesn't write or editorialize the news items — they come directly from the RSS feeds of established science outlets, with a light keyword filter on some sources to keep the feed on-topic. Each item links to its original source.
